Review Zone – Himalaya Neem Face Wash: Skin Care Remedy Or Not?

Skin care ingredients

I never had acne issues growing up, but I do suffer from extreme skin sensitivity. My sensitive skin cannot handle most beauty or skin care products. It’s extremely difficult for me to try out any product – be it a face wash, a face cream, serum, scrub, makeup products, anything – without the fear of breaking out into horrible rashes all over. While I had somehow managed to keep this in control, things became worse when I started getting acne all over my face.

I visited dermatologists, tried over-the-counter ointments, home remedies etc. but if one helped with the acne, then it did not work with my sensitive skin; and if it soothed my sensitive skin, then it was probably too mild to do anything for my acne.  This continued for years, before I decided to try the Himalayas range of face products. The other reason for me trying them was also because I was completely switching over to brands that did not test their products on animals or have animal-based ingredients. The Himalayas Neem Face Wash was one of the first products I tried, years ago, and there has been no looking back since then. Click Here to see the product (this is not a sponsored review, the link takes you to an Amazon website, you can buy it from many other places also)

This product has single handedly helped clear my acne without irritating my sensitive skin. The key ingredients in this facewash is Neem and Turmeric.

Now, here’s the thing – my skin is allergic to turmeric. I can eat it, but I cannot apply it on my skin, or anything with it as its main ingredient. However, this face wash has not caused my allergy to flare up, ever.

Turmeric powder
Turmeric powder just doesn’t work for some people

I use it every day, morning and evening, followed with a splash of rose water. It has a non-sticky consistency and is very easy to wash off. It has a mild fragrance, nothing that will irritate your senses too much.

Here are the pros listed out:

  • EXTREMELY good for pimple-prone and acne-prone skin. Will clear up your pimples and acne within a week of dedicated use.
  • Very mild facewash, does not cause any flare-up
  • Extremely cost-effective
  • Is available in various sizes, so can start with a small tube to test it out.
  • Is available as a foaming facewash also, which is equally effective
  • Does not have a strong fragrance
  • Can be easily washed off ( I like that, because I do not like the feeling of residual facewash on my skin, nor do I like using a lot of water to wash my face)

Absolutely no cons! Unless they decide to discontinue it ever!!!!!!

Overall, this product is the Holy Grail for my sensitive acne-prone skin. It hasn’t obviously cured my acne – if I stop using it, I will get my acne back, but as long as I am using it, I am blessed with smooth skin! As always this is just an opinion and if you have any skin issues after using this product or even before using, then then you should consult a doctor. This is just a review and not a replacement for professional medical advice.
