Review Zone – Cetaphil Gentle Face Cleanser

Cetaphil has been viewed for years as the Holy Grail for troubled skin. It is recommended by dermatologists and has proved itself to be an exceptionally good brand with products that actually do what they claim.

Today we will review the Cetaphil Gentle Face Cleanser.

I started using Cetaphil when I was first given a 25ml bottle as a free gift – since then there has been no looking back.

For years I refused to try any other face wash except Himalayas Neem Face Wash, because I have extremely sensitive skin, prone to acne, breakouts, rashes and bumps. I have to be very careful about the facewash I use – it should clean my face thoroughly and not dry it out, at the same time, not leave it feeling oily. Cetaphil Gentle Face Cleanser is known to be one of the best face cleansers for sensitive skins. It is non-comedogenic (a skincare product that is formulated so as not to cause blocked pores) and helps maintain the skin’s pH balance.

It is a thick white-coloured liquid and is not runny at all.

MY EXPERIENCE:

Every time I use a new product, whether it is a new cream, serum, facewash, face pack or toner, I wait for 24 hours to see the results. If the product is too harsh for my sensitive skin, then within 24 hours I WILL get bumps and rashes on my face.

However, with Cetaphil Gentle Face Cleanser, even after 24hours, there was absolutely no irritation to my skin. With continuous usage now, my skin feels extremely supple and hydrated.

I use Cetaphil in the morning and Himalayas Neem Face Wash in the night.

Since I use a serum and a night face mask, I wakes up with a slightly oily face. Cetaphil Gentle Face Cleanser helps clean my face thoroughly, removing all oiliness and impurities. My face feels soft and supple after using this cleanser and at times I do not apply any cream or lotion on my face after washing my face and it still does not make my face feel dry.

It leaves a slight creamy layer on the face after wash – nothing too heavy or oily. It’s perfect for people with dry skin.

It is a very mild cleanser, suitable for both your face and body and guaranteed will leave your skin feeling well-nourished and hydrated. I have not had any break-outs since I started using this cleanser and it has definitely contributed to reducing my acne-problem.

PROS:

  • Super mild
  • Moisturizes the skin well
  • Does not dry up the skin
  • Perfect for acne-prone, super sensitive skin
  • Can be used with or without water
  • Maintains the pH balance of the skin
  • Hydrates the skin well
  • Reduces the occurrence of acne
  • So good for people with dry skin

CONS:

  • Contains SLS and parabens
  • Not very useful in removing heavy-duty makeup (but since I almost never use heavy makeup, it’s not really a con for me)
  • May not be the best option for people with extremely oily skin (again, it’s not a con, this cleanser is specifically made for people with dry to normal skin)

Rate: 4.5/5
